On 24 April 2023, while actively scanning the sea, our team spotted a boat with people on board needing help. 75 persons, including 40 minors and 13 women, were on an unseaworthy wooden boat in distress located in the international waters near Libya. Everyone is now safe on board of Geo Barents and being cared for by the team.
عثرت سفينة جيو بارنتس التي تدريرها منظمة أطباء بلا حدود يوم الاثنين 24 أفريل على قارب كان على وشك الغرق في المياه الدولية بالقرب من ليبيا. حمل القارب غير صالح للإبحار نحو 75 مهاجراً من بينهم 40 قاصراً. تم إنقاذ الجميع ونقلهم على متن سفينة “جيو بارنتس”. وبحسب تغريدة لمنظمة أطباء بلا حدود، فإن السلطات الإيطالية خصصت مدينة نابولي كميناء آمن لإنزال المهاجرين.
